We prepare some 50,000 fresh meals each year. We’re proud that over 80% of our catering suppliers are sourced from businesses in Yorkshire.
Camp Hill Estate grown produce
We grow some of our own food here at Camp Hill in our Old Walled Kitchen Garden providing students with education and our visitors with very ‘locally’ sourced food!
Biodegradable, Eco-friendly disposable.
We enthusiastically encourage the use of plant-based materials for packaging, cutlery and crockery in our events.
We aim to design out waste from products and procedures. We've stopped selling water in plastic bottles. We wrap sandwiches and other food in paper, rather than plastic.
Bars stock reusable cups, we actively encourage our visitors to bring their own refillable bottles.
We make it easy for our visitors to separate their leftovers into our clearly labelled recycling bins.
We combine renewables on the Estate using a biomass boiler fuelled by our own estate timber, Solar Power for our off-grid Glamping Site and Waste Management Plants for processing. We continue to actively seek new ways to add renewables for the future.
The Camp Hill Estate is managed to deliver benefits to wildlife through nature conservation and careful management.
Our waste goes to make energy at AWRP in North Yorkshire, a short distance from our location. The electricity generated by this site produces enough electricity to power 40,000 homes.
