Connect with nature
Here at Hill Farm we run a Hebridean flock of 120 ewes. Hebridean sheep have established a reputation as a breed to manage delicate ecosystems. Their dietary preferences demonstrate that they can control the growth of several unwanted invasive plant species which in turn helps maintain a well-managed, diverse flora. Their feeding habits mean that Hebridean sheep are slow to mature, hence the meat is dark, succulent, and distinctly sweet with a subtly gamey flavour.
With strong values and policies in place to protect the environment we are continually looking to enhance guest experiences through the development of our existing infrastructure in a sustainable way and through the natural environment
Following on the old kitchen garden has been rebuilt during the covid-19 lockdown as one of many steps towards a sustainable and self-sufficient existence here at Camp Hill. The vision centres around providing Camp Hill’s guests with local grown healthy produce.
Just 5 minutes off the A1(M) we are only 50 minutes by car from Leeds and York and 30 minutes from Harrogate. Local coach companies provide easy return transport to major cities and the mainline train station of Thirsk is only 15 minutes away.
