School’s out for the summer!

Where Camp Hill gives kids a break from the classroom that they won’t forget.

We had St Pius School yesterday who had travelled all the way up from Preston. They bring their year six leavers to Camp Hill for a day full of activities every year as a treat before they go on to secondary school. They spent the first half of the day on the High Ropes Course and then went on to do the Segway Challenge and Quad bike time trials and it was certainly a fun-filled day of adventure.

St Pius were here for a Day Visit and despite the weather which made things a little bit wet; they certainly made the most of it and had smiles on their faces throughout the day. Their chosen activities helped them to both learn and challenge themselves but also have a taste of adventure whilst they were at it.

Here at Camp Hill we provide a huge variety of activities for school groups who want a day or a few days with a difference. The aim of all of these activities is to give pupils a chance to have a taste of adventure that they will not get in the classroom. Moreover, the teachers can decide which activities they want to do and how they would like them to run to ensure that their pupils can get the most out of it.

Whether it’s a trip for teaching pupils how to work better as a team or if it’s a trip to just purely have fun or a bit of both, we can do it all! With activities such as The Minefield or Nuclear Waste created to do team-building, kids will definitely learn how to complete a task by working together. On the other hand, with activities such as The Climbing wall with the mega zip wire or the Segway experience, youths will have the ultimate fun-filled experience.

As you can see from the pictures, St Pius were having a great time with us even though it was a very long day for them! The teachers said how much they loved seeing their pupils in a totally different environment, where they were encouraged to participate and take on roles in unique scenarios. The kids explored life skills that they wouldn’t have discovered in just the classroom and were therefore able to develop them as they were in the great outdoors.

So as school is almost out for the summer, teachers will be reflecting upon if the academic year has been as educational for their pupils as it possibly could be. If the answer is no, then why not book a trip to Camp Hill, even if it is just for a day so we can help you enhance that learning and development whilst breathing in some clean North Yorkshire air. We might be Yorkshire’s best kept secret but there is nothing better than to fill the peace of the countryside than with children’s laughter as they get a real taste of adventure that we can promise they will not easily forget!
